How to shorten lead times and save money with remanufacturing and repair services.
With supply chain issues still affecting lead times for many products, getting parts on time can be difficult. Did you know there is a way to shorten lead times, save money and get more life out of the parts you’ve already invested in? Watch Scott Steinford, remanufacturing and repair specialist, explain how to utilize Repair+, Van Meter’s remanufacturing and repair service or learn about the difference between remanufacturing and repairing a part below.
WHAT IS A REMANUFACTURED PART? WHAT ARE ITS ADVANTAGES?
Do you wish you could make your old Allen-Bradley parts as good as new? With remanufacturing services, you can. What is remanufacturing? Remanufacturing is when your Allen-Bradley parts are retested and restored from start to finish. If there have been any manufacturing revisions since you bought your part, you will have those updates implemented to your part as well. It’s almost like receiving a new part.
You can even avoid long lead times and receive a new warranty depending on the remanufactured part and level of service you request. At Van Meter, there are three service level options—priority exchange, standard (expedited) and economy. Exchanging a part is the quickest, as you send your part in and receive an already remanufactured part overnight. The standard and economy services typically take 2-6 weeks, but it can be a huge time saver compared with purchasing new parts that are backordered for months. Typically, the exchange, standard and economy options carry a 24, 18 and 12-month warranty respectively.
HOW DOES A REPAIR DIFFER FROM REMANUFACTURING? HOW DOES INDUSTRIAL REPAIR SERVICES STREAMLINE PROCESSES?
For OEM equipment other than Allen-Bradley, you can utilize industrial repair services through remanufacturing A repair fixes your part, but does not go through the same rigorous process as a remanufactured part. Through Rockwell, Van Meter offers industrial repair services on over 200,000 items from more than 7,000 manufacturers. It will not carry the same warranty as a remanufactured Allen-Bradley part, but they can test products, diagnose issues and make repairs.
Using the industrial repair service allows you to streamline your repair processes. Instead of coordinating repairs with several different manufacturers, you can rely on a single-source repair provider by simply sending everything back to Van Meter.
